What are freckles?
Freckles are small tan or pale brown spots usually seen on the sun exposed skin of fair skinned people. These spots are caused by UV exposure, so are commonly seen on the face and arms.
These are usually harmless and should not be seen as a threat. They tend to lighten up during winter. Unusual brown spots should be examined by a dermatologist.
How are these treated?
Sun protection is important in people with freckles. Their removal is safe and highly successful with certain lasers like Q-Switched NdYAG laser, when treated by an experienced dermatologist.
